How To Write Sales Copy That PULLS

    There is no great mystery about what works in sales letters
    (or autoresponder copy, web site copy, and brochures which
    are all written with the same techniques).

    Start by showing your prospect that you know what her
    problem is and you understand how much she suffers with it.
    Then let her know you have an easy, affordable solution.

    Notice I said "easy."  Americans, especially, love a quick,
    easy solution that takes little or no effort to apply.

    Next give your prospects enough information to dispel their
    doubts and confusion about what you sell.  This may mean a
    full page listing all your product's features and the
    BENEFITS they provide.  It might mean 12 pages (some of the
    best sales letters are 12 pages long.  Corey Rudl's famous
    sales letters seen on his website are often 25 pages long).

    Anticipate the objections a prospect will present. Mention
    those objections, then answer them in your copy.

    Tell prospects how they can take action NOW to purchase
    your product or service.  Give them several ways to order.
    Make ordering convenient with fast delivery.

10 Tips For Writing A Highly Persuasive Ad!

1.  Publish a picture of yourself in your ad.  This will show people that you're not hiding behind your web site and you're not afraid to backup your product.

2.  List how many famous or respected people have purchased your product in your ad.   These people should be fairly known by your target audience.

3.  Publish the results of any tests your product has passed in your ad. Your product may have passed a durability test, safety test, quality test, etc.

4.  Publish the results of any positive surveys you've taken from your customers in your ad. Just survey your current customers and list the results.

5.  List any publications that have written about your business in your ad. It could be a product review, on a top ten list, an article, etc.

6.  List any related books that you've written in your ad.  When you list a book(s) you've wrote, it gives you credibility because it shows you're an expert.

7.  Have a professional looking web site to publish your ad on.  When people visit your site and it looks unprofessional, they'll relate that to your product.

8.  Publish any endorsements from famous people in your ad.  Some people will think if a famous person, enjoys your product, so will they.

9.  Use a money back guarantee in your ad.  This will remove the risk from your potential customers and show them that you stand behind your product.

10.  Provide testimonials from satisfied customers in your ad.  The testimonials should include specific and believable results you customers have received.

to demonstrate a certain type of behaviour, ask yourself if your behaviour
exemplifies what you expect of others.

    If you take a piece of string and push it, it will not go in the direction
you want.  But, if you take that same piece of string and pull it along,
the string will move in the same direction.  That principle applies to
people.  Don't push them along, pull them along by your
    own actions, your behaviour, your enthusiasm, and your
    determination.

    What you do and how you act, has more influence on people
    than what you say.

Q.  Why do I hear that we should use a physical address rather than a
      P.O. box on our business web sites?

A.  Let me put it this way: assume that you received a letter by regular mail.
     This is a sales letter asking you to buy something.  All you find in the letter
     is a postal mail box number where you are to send the money.   No company
     name - no physical address - no telephone number.
     Would you buy the product?  No?  Why not?


The same principles hold true for online business as for off-line companies.  We want to know who we're doing business with - and where they are.  The reasons are obvious.   This is how we feel safe from scams.

I realize that some online business owners work from home and are concerned for their safety - or that of their family.  If that is the case, I can't insist that physical addresses be used.  However a PRIVATE postal service - clearly labeled, "Mailing Address," will at least give your company a look of higher professionalism.


Q.  I'd like to join a particular affiliate program with a high commission schedule.
     It looks very promising but the only contact information they offer is by email.
     Do you think that is enough?

A.  Absolutely not!  If you sell the product of this program, the money will be
     collected by the parent company.  Your earned commissions are then held until
     time for you to be paid.  Where is your money?


Let's assume that you do really well with sales.  Maybe you've even done some paid advertising but you have a commission check coming for hefty amount.  What if your check fails to arrive?

How are you going to collect the money that is now owed to you?  Via email?  Are you going to send the company an email - and really expect a response?   What if your response is the email returned as undeliverable?  You have invested time and maybe money in this program - for what?

ANY company that is holding the money of anyone else has a responsibility to make their complete identity, location and telephone number available to their associates.  In this instance, postal mail boxes of any kind are not acceptable unless a physical address is also made public!

If they want to hide something - don't let it be your money!
