Being Smart Isn't Good Enough

Recently I had a very dear friend and business associate get
hoodwinked into an opportunity that is most probably a scam.
My dear friend was very distressed over this, as anyone would
be, but even more so because she is experienced. Her job is to
check out opportunities and telecommuting jobs (which she does
extremely well because she investigates even when her boss says
it is not necessary). You might think and believe that she
should have and would have known better --- But that is wrong.
Opportunities that are scams or on the fine line employ people
that are highly trained in order to dupe, not only the average
opportunity seeker but the experienced one as well. This does
not comfort people that get scammed, but it is the truth of the
matter.
Do not ever feel bad because you were outsmarted by one of
these Professional scamsters. Believe me they know what they
are doing and will have an answer for anything and everything
you say. You have to just chaulk it up to experience and
realize that it is imperative that you check out any
opportunity before signing up or sending money.
In this particular instance, my friend knew that she should
check with the BBB, Chamber of Commerce, FTC, etc.
So why didn't she do that?
Very simply the con artist tricked her by using major pressure
and offering her an unbeatable price that was only good, "if
you give me the money right now". The opportunity was also
coming from a very well known information entrepreneur, which
would make anyone believe that it was all legit. This is not
always the case. This particular information entrepreneur has
numerous complaints against him and is in the process of filing
bankruptcy for organizational reasons (do you believe that?).
There was plenty of dirt on this guy once it was looked for.
After making the transaction, my friend realized her mistake.
So now what could she do? That is also quite simple. Should
you ever be pressured into something that you are not sure
about or just plain don't want the first thing you should do:
Fax, phone, e-mail, and send a postal mail to the company that
you felt pressured by and tell them you want out. (Be sure to
send Registered with Return Receipt). Most states provide laws
that protect you and allow you a grace period of 48 hours to 7
days to change your mind about a purchase. Depending on how
the purchase was made (door-to-door salesman, phone
transaction, Internet, etc.) can make a major difference in the
length of time for this grace period.
Once that is done, notify your bank. If you used a check, put
a stop payment on it. If you charged it your bank will tell
you how you will need to deal with it because all banks seem to
have a different way of dealing with this type of thing. From
my own experience the bigger the bank the less they will do for
you. Usually they will have you report your card stolen and
issue you a new card if you feel the company may continue to
use your card #. Smaller banks are much more helpful and will
actually allow you to send them a statement that prevents any
charges from being made to your account by a particular
company.
You would think that the larger banks would be able to take
care of these type of problems better than they do ---- again
the larger the company the lower the level of customer service.
What ever you do always be aware that when there is high
pressure involved or a time limit that does not allow you to
check them out that your answer should always be NO! .....
Scams are abundant in all industries but the information
industry is the worst.

How I Make a Fortune Using FREE Ezine
Advertising and YOU CAN TOO!!

Information is King of the World Wide Web. And for good reason
- We Need It! I am referring to Internet Marketing Information
of course.
There is not a single day that passes that I haven't learned at
least one new marketing tip, Internet trick or piece of
priceless advice that will keep me in high overdrive on the
Information Superhighway.
More often than not, these will come from a book or
informational software I've purchased.
I consider myself a fairly astute Internet marketer, but I am
smart enough to know that I don't have all the answers. I can
learn, as well as teach. Amazing how often some small pearl of
wisdom comes shining through a thirty dollar tutorial that will
either make me a lot of money, save me a lot of money or
conserve that most precious of commodities - time.
I've learned from some of the best - Marlon Sanders, Mark
Joyner, Jim Daniels. And I know in speaking with these top
cyber-marketing minds, they've learned from me as well.
But I've been taught a lot by newbies too! Newcomers who don't
have the built-in prejudices and blocks that some of us
long-timers are predisposed to having (like the Net's ancient
or something:-)
What gets my BVD's in a bunch though, is the immeasurable
gigabytes of "reports" that run rampant all over cyber-space
masquerading as legitimate how-to-market-on-the-Internet
information. And the not-so-yet-netsmart newbies who get
sucked into spending their not-so-plentiful marketing bucks on
products of little-to-no value.
The only information on Internet marketing that any of us want
and need is new and current. The Internet changes faster than
anything we've witnessed before. We need information written
by those who are REALLY making money on the Internet. Those
who CAN teach us but who are also sincere in their desire to
share EVERYTHING that is working (or isn't) for them.
Here's my story in a nutshell. I've made a lot of money by
"using" ezines as my main promotional vehicle. I "trade"
hundreds and hundreds of these Internet newsletters valuable
information that I provide for the exposure they give me in
return. I benefit their readers and they in turn become my
future customers and newsletter subscribers. Win Win. I get
literally millions of impressions per month and built a pretty

Data Entry
I run a company in a small community in North Central Kansas
designed around business outsourcing. We hire and represent
persons that possess skills in a wide variety of areas. We try to
match each personfs area of expertise with the company or source
in need of a particular skill. We have two situations that we
incorporate with our personnel. One is setting them up to do the
job out of their home and the other is to set them up at a
workstation out of our facility. In the first situation we act as
a link from the source to them initially for setting them up and
making sure they understand their duties. At that point they are
responsible for all work done and correspondence with the source.
We then only work with them to support and troubleshoot any
problems they might experience with hardware, software, and any
other general issues. They are personally responsible for
expenses incurred from such matters. The second possible scenario
would be to set them up with a workstation out of our facility.
In this situation IBS would act as a direct link to the source
and manage all matters pertaining to work, hardware, software,
and other general issues. We currently have several persons
available in the data entry, data processing, typing and clerical
fields. Work hours provided are very flexible including evenings
and weekends.

Regarding Wanda's request re job banks, I have joined
www.scorpioninfo.com - Scorpion Information
Brokerage. They
actually guarantee certain jobs, and provide help to get jobs.
You buy access to their database of jobs that are all
telecommuting jobs, and this is a one-off fee for access from
then on, not an annual fee or anything like that. They update
twice a week. Hope this is helpful.
I have a request, too. I see a number of ads for building a 150
page website that you earn commission on, and I'm wondering if
these are a good way to start in the area of web-based
businesses, or if they'd be a real lot of work for little
return. I don't really know anything about using the web for an
income, except that I'd love to try without getting scammed.
I'd really appreciate any help you can give in this area.

Thanks so much for the infor about Scorpion Info. I am sure
that many people receiving the newsletter need that info.
I included your request only because I have been asked about
this same opportunity on numerous occasions. I have checked
into myself but have not become an affiliate. They appear to
be legitimate. I have spoken to a few that have been marketing
their sites for 6 months to a year and it seems to be quite
profitable. The good thing about this opportunity is that you
can start out free and upgrade as you make more money and have
more time for it.
One person I spoke to had only been involved for 3 months and
had already given notice at her full-time job because she was
making enough money to upgrade as well as make up for her
full-time job. That was a couple of months ago. I would
assume that since she now has more time to put into her
business that she is making even more money from it.
