I have been informed about a Y2K problem in Windows 95/98 and NT
that I would like to make you aware of. Thanks to Chip Gatchell,
webmaster at http://www.on-line-services.com
Y2K Problem Fix For Windows
It has come to the attention of On-Line Services that most people
may be affected by a simple problem in the Windows 95, 98 and NT
Operating Systems when the year 2000 rolls around. To fix this
problem in Windows you can follow these simple instructions and
prevent this problem from occurring. We suggest you distribute
this to anyone who may be in need of this information.
1. Double click on "My Computer".
2. Double click on "Control Panel".
3. Double click on "Regional Settings" icon.
4. Click on the "Date" tab at the top of the page.
5. Where it says, "Short Date Sample", look and see if it shows a
"two digit" year. Of course it does. That's the default setting for
Windows 95, Windows 98 and NT. (This date RIGHT HERE is the date
that feeds application software and WILL NOT rollover in the year
2000. It will roll over to 00.)
6. Click on the button across from "Short Date Style" and select
the option that shows, MM/dd/yyyy. (Be sure your selection has four
Y's showing, not two)
7. Then click on "Apply" and then click on "OK" at the bottom.
Done.

How to Write Your Own Original Content & Articles

Why is it so important to write your own content
and articles? It
will keep your readers interested in your e-zine, plus they will look
forward to receiving your e-zine each week. Additionally, you can
receive free publicity by submitting your articles to other e-zines.
In fact, you may even receive requests from other publishers and
webmasters asking you if they can use your article.
When writing, you will always want to choose a subject that you know
about or have enough interest in to go out and do the research
necessary in order to write a truthful and factual article or
commentary. Your credibility and reputation is on the line with each
and every word you write ---- so be sure that you are giving good,
up-to-date information or you will pay for it later.
"Ok, Betty, I will give it a shot but how do I decide what to write
about?? I know a little bit about a lot of things and I'm interested
in a lot of different things too. But I don't have the time to be
trying to come up with a topic that my readers will enjoy."
There are a lot of ways to fix this problem. Basically you have
everything you need --- you can use a number of different things to
that you come in contact with daily to develop a topic for your
article. This list is far from complete but it will give you just
about everything you need to start writing informative articles.
1 - Take a look at your desktop.
Have you received any interesting e-mail from associates,
customers,
friends or maybe even in your junk mail?
Have you run across any interesting websites this week?
What is on your to do list??? Anything that your readers
may benefit
from?
Are you involved in any discussion lists? What has the topic been
recently? Have you had an good input on the subject? Use
it!
2 - Take a look at what you come in contact with each day.
Do you keep getting asked the same questions -- make the answer
into an article.
Have you attended a good conference or seminar? I bet your
readers
weren't there and would love to hear about it.
Do you visit forums? Did you today? There are always
interesting
topics being discussed in forums as well as many good questions
being
asked. Forums are a great place to get ideas for an
article.
Did you read or see something of interest today?
3 - Take a look at the World around you.
What's going on in the news? Anything that may affect your
on-line
business? You can write about that.
Find someone to interview --- the founder of a program that you
are
promoting --- someone highly regarded in your chosen field.
Do you have a new product or service to offer??? Make a
special
offer that is for your readers only.
4 - Start a Feedback Column.
Yes, this one makes it very easy to write. Encourage your readers
to ask questions --- publish the questions and answers.
Reader
feedback is extremely important to you --- you need it to be able
to continue growing. Use your readers questions and ideas.
Keep a note pad with you at all times. Have a
special section in it
just for your writing ideas. You will come up with ideas at the
oddest times for a new article and you will want to be prepared to
make note of it so you can develop it at a later time.
When writing try to remember to write in the same way that you talk.
Picture yourself writing your article to a friend that you are trying
to educate on your chosen topic. Doing this will help the words flow
more easily and your article will not sound like you are talking at
people.
Always proofread your writing yourself and have an impartial party
re-check it for you as well. Your first few articles may seem a bit
difficult but after a short time you will get the hang of it and it
will no longer be a chore. You should end up having a sense of
accomplishment and well as a happy feeling that you have helped
someone to understand a topic better than they did before reading
your article.

Are you being lied to about associate programs?
People who tell Internet lies hack me off.
And if there is any area people lie about, it must
be associate programs.
I'm going to mince no words: If you want to max
out the money you can make online, you MUST start
your own associate program.
Most "gurus" aren't going to tell you that.
Know why?
Because they want you to promote THEIR associate
program. They want you at the bottom of the food chain
to support them at the top. The best way to get to the
top of the chain is to have your own products and your
own associate program.
And sure some people promise lifetime commissions, you
own the customer, or whatever. But know how much they're
going to pay you on those repeat sales? A whopping
5%-15% in most cases.
That and a few bucks will get you a latte at Starbucks!
You wanna make some real money? Create your own products
and be your own freakin' Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and
goose that lays golden eggs.
I show my students how to do it in less time than you'd
think. I've been saying for a long time that it's a lot
easier than it sounds.
Otherwise, you'll forever be the person at the bottom
making the guy or gal at the top rich. You wanna be on
bottom or on top? It's your choice.
Here's another thing. Most gurus don't want to teach the
competition their tricks. They want you to spend all
your time getting listed at the top of the search engines
..which is going to suck up all the marketing time you
have, unless you really know your stuff.
Or they want you to whiz away endless hours trying to
make a few bucks submitting your URL to every freakin'
free classified ad and "free-for-all-links" site on the Net.
Worst of all, you're probably promoting their product
to begin with!
It's total nonsense.
If the Internet marketing advice you're listening to
spends an eternity telling you how to get listed at
the top of search engines or other assorted methods but
then pooh-pooh's the idea of starting your own
associate program, think twice about what you're reading.
In other cases, some marketers will throw a zillion and
one possibilities at you, so you'll be in a cloud as to
what to do. That way, when their competitors buy and
read their product (which they will), they'll be clueless
about how they're making their real money.
In most cases, the product you're reading IS being sold
by an associate program with only a slight (if any)
emphasis on the search engines.
And remember this, the length of a product has NOTHING
to do with the quality of the information. Nor does the
quality of the desktop publishing. Just because a product
is "pretty" doesn't mean the information in it is going to
make you a dime.
I apologize for ranting and raving. But these things get
under my skin. People wonder why I tell the truth if there
are incentives to lie, distort or misrepresent.
I tell the truth (as I see it) because it's the right thing
to do. Plain and simple.
Here's the unvarnished truth:
1. Yes, you need your own associate program
2. Yes, they do involve customer support but it's usually
worth the effort many times over.
3. Yes, there are legal risks involved in starting your
own associate program and you should obtain competent legal
counsel.
4. Yes, associate programs can be highly lucrative and one
of the best (if not the best) ways to promote your business
online.
5. Yes, I make a lot of money from my associate program.
Initially, I was hesitant to start my own associate
program. I was concerned about handling the customer
service. My fears were bloated by chaos merchants who feed
you horror stories to convince you not to start your own
program and thus become their competitor.
The best decision I ever made in Internet marketing was
starting my associate program for "The Amazing Formula That

You may or may not like or agree with what I've just said.
But I'll promise you one thing:
